Our Mission

SENPDC’s mission is to provide a setting for NPs to embark upon and maintain a successful and lucrative independent practice. We seek to provide the ultimate in wrap-around practice management for independent nurse practitioners, with maximum reimbursement and minimum headache, thus enabling professional and financial freedom.

Our History

The idea for our company was sparked by a conversation on a hotel balcony in Indianapolis in June 2007 during the AANP conference. Diann Nelson-Houser, our CEO, had embarked upon her independent practice in January of that year. By June, she had made almost 90% of what she made the entire previous year working for an NP company, working fewer hours but still taking more time with her patients. "I wish every NP I knew had this opportunity", said Diann. Within minutes, she and I were brainstorming ways to make independent practice an affordable and easy option for other NPs.

For most NPs, independent practice is an unreachable goal. It can take months to be credentialed, and during that time there is no income. The billing, recordkeeping, remittance tracking and financial management tasks equal a second full-time job. And knowing how to even begin is a problem. NPs manage health problems - not contracts, Medicare applications, SEPs and tax vouchers.

And so we came up with this model - a company that does all the setup, practice management and ongoing support, but without any of the anxiety of waiting months for reimbursement, and being uncertain of what that reimbursement would even be.
